Prep for departure (less than two weeks to go)
I'm just back from San Francisco, coming off the high, and in the midst of rediscovering the overwhelming nature of "to do" lists. Aiee, I really have a lot to do, and it's all little bits and pieces. Most irritating today: figuring out transformers and adaptors. Also, do I bother bringing a small blow dryer? My hair is lifeless and sad without it. I wish the recommended packing list weren't so long! And of course it has a clause stating that it would be next to impossible to bring everything, so weeding out the "can't-live-wthout" from the "it-would-be-preferable-to-have" is going to be a test of patience and executive decision-making capability. Man, my bags should pack themselves and POA papers and personal property insurance should just materialize/resolve themselves when I stomp once, click my heels twice.

Come back to San Francisco. We miss you.

ReplyDeleteI miss you all! Molly, pack a blow dryer. Albania is wet and damp. Your hair is not going to dry naturally like it does in Arizona. Besides, having a blow dryer will be good for other things like drying your socks and undergarments when it raining outside, teaching kids how a hot air balloon works and how heat rises by blowing it into a plastic bag and having it rise. Your going to be in the country for two years. Bring a blow dryer. Here are some other uses for blow dryers.
